At the beginning of March, 2026 an email from a representative of CigarBros arrived in my inbox which peaked my interest. An annoucement that CigarBros was getting ready to release Freshbox a new, cutting-edge desktop humidor with unmatched humidity control and temperature isolation, worry-free maintenance, and elegant storage for eager new collectors, discerning aficionados, and everyone in-between. I remember CigarBros from previous PCA Trade Shows as a company that sells vertical-standing climate controlled humidors to retail outlets. It turns out that FreshBox is not the first time CigarBos has ventured into the consumer market. In fact, the Freshbox is an elevated version (and vision) of the CigarBros Personal Humidor. PRODUCT DESIGN
After removing the humidor from its packaging and setting it down on the table in front of me, my initial reaction was that it was a really nice looking desktop humidor. The size appears to be identical to any standard 50 count cigar humidor and it has a very nice high gloss finish to it. I did find the branding on the humidor a little excessive. The words, “FreshBox”, “CigarBros”, and “MAXFLOW Technology” are everywhere to include the inside of the humidor. I wonder if the design team likes NASCAR. It’s as if every angle is sponsored. Still, the humidor has a very sleek and professional look.
Opening the lid to the humidor required two hands at first until I figured out how to push down on the humidor while pushing up on the lid with my thumb. The seal between the lid and the humidor seems pretty tight. It’s not like a traditional wood humidor where it is typically very easy to lift the lid. With that being said, you’ll also find that you will want to apply some pressure evenly on the lid when closing it to make sure that seal is tight again.Â
The humidor is built like a cooler or a lunch box. The outer shell is a thin plastic to provide shape, strength, and cosmetics while the inside is made of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) with grooves making its way from the center out to the edges.
Each starter kit contains a humidor, 12 cigars, a Boveda Humidity Pack, a lighter and cutter in a sleek carrying case, and a microfiber towel. Look for an unboxing video on our YouTube channel in the near future.
OBSERVATIONS
Pod Based System
A pod is a pack of three cigars. The FreshBox starter kit ships with four packs,12 cigars total. Although there are currently 26 brands available to choose from on freshboxcigars.com you will only be able to choose from two categories, Classic / Timeless Brands and Modern / Trending Brands and your preferred tasting profile: mild, medium, bold, or aromatic.Â
The Pods are part of the overall design of the FreshBox. A full freshbox  humidor can fit 10 packs of three cigars for a total of 30 cigars. Each pack of three cigars contains an 8g 69% Boveda pack inside. The FreshBox humidor also contains one 60g Boveda pack.Â
If you chose to remove your cigars from the three pack boxes you should be able to fit 50 loose cigars inside of the humidor.

 MaxFlowTM Technology & Airflow Channels
Although we did not have enough time to put this feature to the test it is still worth mentioning. The interior of the humidor has channels in the bottom reaching from each side back to the center where there is a rectangle the perfect size for a 60 gram humidity pack to sit. The concept is to provide better airflow throughout the humidor. Although it does seem like it would work, we appreciate the dedicated space for our humidity pack. For too long it has been accepted that we just throw a humidity pack somewhere in our humidors which doesn’t necessarily look great and usually takes up space that we would rather use for additional cigars.
Modular Design
Each FreshBox humidor contains magnets on the top and bottom to create a more secure connection when stacking multiple humidors. The magnets are well hidden under the EPS interior lining so without tearing the humidor to pieces Its hard saying exactly what size or how many magnets are there. Based on experience from this review it’s safe to estimate that there is a small magnet near each corner with enough strength to keep stacked humidors neatly aligned. The magnets are not strong enough to carry each other during movement from one location to the next.
Lightweight, Durable, and  Portable Construction
Humidors of this size and shape are not typically considered travel humidors due to their weight and price point considering the vast majority of them are made of wood and can cost hundreds of dollars or more. We weighed the FreshBox Humidor completely empty right at 2lbs. It is definitely light weight and it makes sense when you consider the materials that the humidor is made of and that its core design is for the cigar smoker who is always on the move.Â
The outer plastic shell is high gloss and will attract a lot of fingerprints but a microfiber cloth is provided with the starter kit to help keep your humidor clean. It can take a beating too. The FreshBox Humidor survived several drops from 3 feet with the lid separating from the main body once. We were able to snap the lid back on and the FreshBox was back to functioning the way it was intended.
Waterproof
We get it! This test was extreme but when you claim “waterproof” you better believe we are going to test it. Don’t worry, no cigars were harmed in this test. However, the Boveda pack went from 69% humidity to tropical rainforest pretty fast.
Obviously the FreshBox is not waterproof. The humidor itself will float on water and took a lot of force to hold it under water for 30 seconds. While submerged the humidor didn’t completely fill with water, but as you can see enough water was able to get in that your cigars would be toast.
The FreshBox is water resistant and it has a very good seal that will obviously survive common liquid attacks like a spilt drink or getting caught out in a light rain when you’re out on the golf course.Â
The good news is that after an hour of leaving the box open and upside down on a few paper towels, the humidor is as good as new. So in the worst case scenario you may lose a few cigars and a humidity pack, but you still have a great humidor.

Humidity Pack That Can Last A Year
Obviously we could not test this claim, but we wanted to point this out. Being located in the midwest we have never seen a single 60 gram Boveda pack last even close to a year. On average we see them lasting about three months. Only time will tell and we will update this review with our findings.
RATING & FINAL THOUGHTS
PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
We tested the FreshBox to the best of our ability in a short period of time and the decision was unanimous. For the price point you can’t go wrong. We assume that most users will keep this humidor on their office desk or on a shelf somewhere in their home . They look great and from what we can tell they will perform well as intended. Because the lid does not have any type of locking mechanism, we don’t see the humidor being used as an everyday travel humidor very often.
REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE
The FreshBox Humidor is a perfect solution for those who do not wish to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a humidor. As a member of the Armed Services, I wish that I had a FreshBox on my last deployment. It’s lightweight, easy to transport, holds up to 50 cigars, looks sharp, and is very affordable. What if something where to happen to this humidor? Who cares, for the price just order another one.
If you are a retailer, you may want to take a serious look at a partnership with FreshBox. This is a product that offers a high value, low cost solution to almost every cigar smokers needs.Â
