The El Titan de Bronze Redemption is a new version of the Redemption brand developed with General Cigar Co. El Titan de Bronze is a Miami based factory and is one of the very few cigar factories in the United States. The brand is now a regular production offering as opposed to a limited edition. This particular brand is new to me and I had a fellow cigar smoker provide me with the samples. Â

BAND DESIGN

There is no absence of banding with this cigar, especially in the robusto size. There are actually two bands on this cigar and the bottom comes off fairly quick when burning down with the main band being two puffs behind it. As excessive as the band is, it is a well executed design. The symmetry and gold foiling is elegant and bold. The script font meshes well with the serifed font that is used throughout the band. The warm maroon color with the light brown found in the emblem mixed with the gold gives a very timeless and classy vibe.Â
PRE-LIGHT OBSERVATIONS

CONSTRUCTION
The parts of the cigar that I can see, because the band is YUGE, are very nice and uniform in color. The milk chocolate brown color has minimal veins and tight seams. The body does not have very much tooth and is smooth to the touch. To top off the cigar, there is a neatly applied triple cap.Â

AROMA
I don’t know if it is just my senses, but I can smell this cigar from far away. The body has a alluring barnyard aroma with a fruit sweetness that include orange and a little bit of strawberry. Surprisingly enough, the foot is not as strong as the body of the cigar with just a sweet tobacco, cedar, and faint barnyard coming out. When I smell this cigar, it is like the first time I smelled a cigar that I really liked. It’s a bit nostalgic and I enjoy it.
COLD DRAW
The draw has a little restriction, but for the most part, there is good airflow. As far as notes go, there is a warm cedar and sweet tobacco. I also noticed a little bit of black pepper and prune, but fairly mute when compared to the other notes.
SMOKING EXPERIENCE

LIGHT & DRAW
Cut:Â Straight
Fire:Â Torch
What a burst of flavor right off of light up! The room note is woody with cinnamon and apples mixed in. The draw is absolutely perfect with very little resistance. After each draw you get tons of smoke. There is a bold pepper upfront and right behind that you get cinnamon, cocoa powder, and a semi-sweet fresh baked bread. The retro offers black pepper mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish tastes like butter with a little bit of sugar and chocolate. The overarching flavor of oak slowly fades away and leaves a bold, but not bitter, taste in the mouth.
SMOKE
There is a lot of smoke coming out of this cigar. Even with the smallest draw, you get an adequate amount of smoke. The room note of this cigar is very pleasant and I don’t think other people would even mind to be around you while you’re smoking this. When I walked inside my house, for the first time in my life, my wife said that the cigar I was smoking smelled really good. It smells like a wood-burning stove with a Dutch oven on top where you are baking bread and getting sweet jam ready to put on top of it.
FIRST THIRD
>> Cinnamon, Cedar, Shortbread Cookie

The draw continues it’s perfection into the first third and the ash is incredibly straight, tight, and there are no flakes. Every flavor that you experience initially is present but the pepper mellows out a lot. Straight cedar and cinnamon are the main notes. The retro is still predominantly pepper with a touch of leather in the background. The finish is where the cigar really starts to shine. It starts off as pepper mixed with cedar then moves into this well rounded shortbread cookie that is slightly sweet and buttery. You also get hints of cream and then it rides out with cinnamon and leather notes right up until the next draw.
SECOND THIRD
>> Egg Nog, Leather, Graham Cracker

The draw and burn are still perfect. The sweetness in the second third drops off but is replaced with some sophisticated flavors. The cedar and cinnamon note stay on the palate. The retro is a little more tame, with the pepper taking a back seat and cocoa powder sitting in front. Where the shortbread on the finish used to exist, you get more leather, cedar, cream, cinnamon, and a little bit of nutmeg. It kind of reminds me of warm eggnog without all the sweetness. Leather definitely dominates the finish and still lasts until the next draw. This cigar also reminds me of a buttery graham cracker that does not have a lot of sugar and is very wholesome.
FINAL THIRD
>> Leather, Earth, Cayenne

As expected, the last third still has a very nice draw. The burn, while it is a little wavy, presented no issues at any point. The flavors on the last third definitely shift and become a little sharper. You can notice a lot more spice on the palate. The dominant note throughout the last third is definitely leather with a little bit of earth and warm cedar. On the retro, your nostrils feel a sting of cayenne that mellows out into black pepper mixed with cream and leather. The finish expands into a black pepper and has a steep drop off that leads you to leather, cinnamon, and dry earth notes. There isn’t a lot of sweetness when compared to the beginning of the cigar, but it still offers some nice punchy bold flavors.Â
RATING & FINAL THOUGHTS
FLAVOR PROGRESSION
The flavor progression in the cigar kept me interested for the entire smoking experience. I will say that I enjoyed the first and second thirds more than I enjoyed the last third. I was hoping that the cigar would build on the sophistication of the second third and contain some of those sweet notes, but the sharpness of the last third is memorable and I never wanted to stop smoking it at any point.Â
BURN EXPERIENCE
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the construction of any of the samples that I smoked. The consistency in the draw and the burn were as good as I could’ve hoped for. This is a cigar that I would pay more money for just because of the consistency in flavor and good construction.

STELLAR PERFORMANCE AND FLAVOR.
I urge anyone that enjoys smoking cigars to go out and smoke this cigar. From the room note, to the variation in flavors from each third, it was a great experience. Every time I smoked this cigar I never wanted it to end. I don’t know if this is true for the other vitola’s in this line, but the Robusto was exceptional. Without hesitation, I would buy two boxes of these.
